Are you and your student traveling from overseas or cross-country and need to ship boxes to William & Mary ahead of fall move-in? Keep reading to learn more about the William & Mary Post Office.
Mail can begin arriving at the W&M Post Office on August 1. You will need your student's unique CSU number to address any mail or packages shipped to campus. CSU numbers for new students are assigned within the first or second full week of August and can be found on the homepage of their housing portal. This number stays with your student throughout their time at W&M. Usually, mail is only held at the Post Office for 30 days, but the holding time is slightly extended for new students during the move-in process.
If items need to be mailed before a CSU is assigned, the phrase "New Student" should be placed on the line where their mailbox number would go in their campus address. If your student cannot see their CSU number on the homepage of the housing portal after mid-August, your student should reach out to the Post Office at (757) 221-4491 or wmpostoffice@wm.edu. Please see below for how to address any mail or packages correctly.
Students will receive an email from parcel@wm.edu notifying them that a package has arrived and is available for pick-up. If arriving in Williamsburg before move-in day, students can pick-up their packages using a driver's license of other photo ID in lieu of their Tribe Card.
The Post Office will accept larger pallet-style shipments. If space becomes limited, they may need to separate the pallet. Your student will be responsible for retrieving the order upon move-in -- the Post Office will not deposit the shipment at your student's dorm. Your student should plan for this time allotment when selecting their move-in appointment.
